Music Touch for your DS

Being a music gamers and sad seeing all those good titles like DJmax, Gitaroo Man and PaRappa the Rapper porting to the PSP? No worries! DS have their own music touching too!

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!

On the early 2005, Nintendo Japan had published a music game for the DS, called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! This game was a huge hit in Japan, not to mention my local DS gamers too. This game require you to touch the screen, following the numbers and colors, drag and spin the wheel. The bottom screen shows three chearleaders dancing. You might think its quite simple, but its not. Surprisingly, its so hard that you need to play over and over again to pass a stage. A stage requires you to listen to the music and tempo. Nevertheless, the music provided is quite limited but the music are somehow very nice to be listen, some songs are from the famous J-pop artist, such as Orange Range and lots more. The screen on the top shows the reputation on how well you played a song, its actually really funny on how they animate the animation in comedy and ridiculous way. For every part have good and bad result on how you play, so becareful. Practice hard! You can import this game from Play-Asia, which still stock available.

Elite Beat Agent

Due to the famous release of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! US finally got themselves a chance to release an American version of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! which is actually called Elite Beat Agent. The game is slightly the same game play, but the cheerleaders had been changed to some kind of C.I.A Agents. More songs to be unlocked and more storyline. Unlike the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! which only have one good ending after you clear a song, Elite Beat Agent have three different on how you did well in each songs. To be honest, I don't really like US release of music game that had been release in Japan. But surprisingly, the songs that they picked are good! Some brings back an old times, some are hip-hop from Jessica Simpson, Good Carllotte, Madonna, Hoobastank and lots more. Its amazing how well they animated the 3D model into so many funky dance moves. Definitely this is a pick if you like music games.
